The computer can't talk to the Epson printer/scanner. Usually a connection, driver, or firewall issue rather than hardware.
Work through these in order; most people are fixed by the first two or three.
Check the printer is online and on the same network; re-select it in Epson Scan/printer settings if the IP changed.
Install the latest Epson driver + Epson Scan 2 for your model and OS.
Permit Epson Scan/print services in your firewall, or test with it temporarily off.
For USB, use a different rear port and a known-good cable.
