Medium severity Connectivity Code: Not Found on Wi-Fi

Printer not found during wireless setup

The setup app or driver can't discover the printer on your network. Most wireless-setup failures come from band mismatch (2.4GHz vs 5GHz), network isolation, or the printer not being in setup mode.

Symptoms

  • "No printers found" during setup
  • App stalls searching
  • Printer never joins Wi-Fi

Likely causes

  • Printer on 2.4GHz, phone/PC on 5GHz only
  • Guest network / AP isolation blocking discovery
  • Printer not in Wi-Fi setup mode
  • Firewall blocking discovery

How to fix it — step by step

Work through these in order; most people are fixed by the first two or three.

Use the 2.4GHz band

Most printers only join 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. During setup, connect your phone/PC to the 2.4GHz network too. On a single-name (band-steering) router, temporarily seperate the bands if needed.

Put the printer in setup mode

Use the printer's Wi-Fi Setup Wizard, or hold the Wi-Fi button until it flashes, so it broadcasts for setup. Keep the printer close to the router during pairing.

Avoid guest networks

Guest/public networks isolate devices. Join both printer and computer to your main home network.

Temporarily disable VPN/firewall

A VPN or strict firewall can hide the printer during discovery — turn it off just for setup.
