Warranty & service

Check your printer warranty status

Warranty status is held by the manufacturer, so the only reliable way to check it is on their official tool using your serial number. Here's how — plus a direct link for each brand.

How to check in 3 steps

Find your serial number

Look for a sticker on the back or underside of the printer (often labelled "S/N" or "Serial"). Many printers also show it under Settings › Printer Information, or on a printed configuration/network page.

Open your brand's official warranty tool

Use the brand link below. These go straight to the manufacturer's support/warranty pages — the only place with your real warranty status.

Enter the serial & your country

Type the serial number and choose your country of purchase (United States or Canada). The tool shows your coverage status and end date.

Official warranty links by brand

Opens the manufacturer's official support site in a new tab.

What a printer warranty usually covers

Typically covered: manufacturing defects and hardware failures during the warranty period (commonly 1 year limited in the US & Canada; varies by model and any extended plan).
Often not covered: accidental damage, normal wear, consumables (ink/toner unless defective), and damage from unsupported supplies or misuse. Check your specific terms.
Using third-party ink or toner generally does not automatically void a US warranty unless that supply is shown to have caused the specific problem (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act). When in doubt, keep your proof of purchase.
