About PrinterSupport.io

PrinterSupport.io is an independent printer help resource. We publish free, tested, plain-English guides for printer setup, driver installation, error codes and everyday faults, covering every major brand sold in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and beyond. We also offer a paid remote-support service for people who would rather have someone fix it for them.

Why this site exists

Printer problems are unusually badly served on the web. Manufacturer support pages are terse and often assume the printer is brand new. Driver searches are one of the most reliably poisoned queries on the internet, littered with fake "driver updater" downloads and lookalike setup domains. Forum threads capture the right question but rarely a complete answer. And a large fraud industry runs paid ads impersonating printer manufacturers' support lines.

We built this site to be the opposite of all that: complete answers, exact menu paths, honest assessments of when a printer is not worth repairing, and download links that only ever point at the manufacturer or an official app store.

How we work

  • We test on real hardware. Our guides are written against actual printers running current versions of Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and ChromeOS, not from press releases.
  • We say when we are unsure. Where a specification is approximate or a reset sequence differs between models, we say so rather than presenting a guess as fact.
  • We update for the current operating systems. Printing changes constantly: Windows moved to driverless "Ready Print" defaults, macOS added a Local Network privacy permission that breaks printer discovery, and manufacturers keep shipping firmware that changes cartridge behaviour. We revise guides as those things move.
  • We link out to the manufacturer. Every brand page carries the official support and driver links for your country, because for warranty work that is where you should go.

What we cover

Model pages for current, discontinued and legacy printers; error-code pages for on-screen messages from every major brand plus Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and ChromeOS printing errors; official software and driver pages; brand support hubs; and country-specific help covering local retailers, ISP router quirks and repair costs.

How we make money

Two ways, both stated plainly:

  • Our remote support plan. If you would rather not work through a fix yourself, you can pay us to do it with you on a screen-share. Every guide on this site stays free whether or not you buy it.
  • Advertising. We may display advertising on the site. Advertising never influences what we recommend, and we do not accept payment from manufacturers for favourable coverage.

We are not the manufacturer

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, Xerox, Kyocera, Ricoh, Samsung, Dell, Konica Minolta, Sharp, Toshiba, OKI, Panasonic, Pantum, Zebra, Dymo or any other printer manufacturer. All brand names, logos and model numbers are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here purely to identify the products we write about.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Email help@printersupport.io or use the contact form. We publish corrections rather than quietly editing pages when the error was material.
