Turn the printer off and unplug it

Remove the rear access panel and duplexer
Press the tabs on the rear door and lift it away. Check for paper and for any torn fragments, including in the duplex path. Refit the panel so it clicks on both sides.
Pull the main tray fully out and inspect
Remove the paper tray, take the paper out, and look inside the cavity with a flashlight. Paper fragments against the pickup roller are a frequent trigger. Reload the paper with the guides snug and below the fill line.
