Panasonic made very few colour laser MFPs, and the KX-MC6260 is the one most often encountered, offering colour printing, copying, scanning and fax in a single desktop unit. Colour speed is slow at around 12 ppm and duplex is manual, which shows its age. Consumable supply is now the deciding factor for owners; when colour toner becomes hard to find, most users move to a modern colour MFP rather than repair.

Setting up the Panasonic KX-MC6260

Install Multi-Function Station and choose the LAN connection so PC printing, scanning and fax are all registered, then add the printer by IP if the installer does not find it automatically. Because Panasonic's colour driver predates modern Windows, testing installation on one PC before rolling out to a whole office is worthwhile. If colours are off, the usual causes are a nearly empty cartridge or a drum needing replacement rather than any calibration setting, as the machine offers little colour adjustment.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Panasonic's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
