Multi-Function Station was the desktop software for Panasonic's multifunction fax machines, providing printing, scanning, PC fax and device settings. Panasonic has ended software support: the Windows builds date from 2012, the macOS build stops at OS X 10.11, and Panasonic's support page says plainly that support has ended. If you still use one of these machines, the software may install on older systems but will not work on current ones. Standalone copying and faxing at the machine itself continues to work regardless.

Version and licence: End of support. Panasonic's own support page states that software support has ended. The last Windows builds are version 1.12 and 1.13 from 2012, around 40 MB, and the last macOS build is 1.15.2 which only supports OS X 10.5 through 10.11. There is no Windows 11 build and none is coming. Around 40 MB for the Windows builds.

What it does

  • Printing from Windows to the Panasonic multifunction machine
  • Scanning to the computer from the flatbed or feeder
  • PC fax send and receive
  • Device settings and phone book management from the computer
  • Status monitoring on the desktop
  • All of this is now unsupported legacy software

How to install it

  1. Step 1

Understand first that this is unsupported software with no current build; the machine still copies and faxes on its own without it.

  2. Step 2

Open the Panasonic fax support page and find your model.

  3. Step 3

Download the Multi-Function Station build listed, checking the operating system versions it names.

  4. Step 4

On Windows, install as an administrator, and try compatibility mode for Windows 7 if it refuses to run.

  5. Step 5

On macOS, note that the last build only supports OS X 10.5 through 10.11, so a modern Mac will not run it.

  6. Step 6

Connect the machine by USB, since these models predate reliable network setup.

  7. Step 7

If the software will not install, use the machine's own panel for copying, faxing and scanning to a USB drive where supported.

Which printers it supports

Panasonic multifunction fax machines including the KX-MB and KX-FLB families and related models sold before the range was discontinued.

When Panasonic Multi-Function Station will not work

It will not install on Windows 11

There is no Windows 11 build and none is planned. Try compatibility mode for Windows 7 as a long shot, but expect it to fail. The machine still works standalone for copying and faxing.

My Mac cannot run it

The last macOS build stops at OS X 10.11, so any modern Mac is out of scope. There is no replacement, and Panasonic has ended support.

Scanning no longer works

Without working software there is no scan-to-computer path on most of these models. Scan to a USB drive from the panel if your model supports it, or replace the machine if scanning matters.

I need a print driver only

Check the Panasonic support page for a basic driver for your model, and if there is none for your Windows version, try adding the printer with the built-in Windows class driver over USB, which prints on some models.

Panasonic support pages are hard to find

The current route is the Panasonic fax support documentation site, which states the end-of-support position and carries what downloads remain.

Frequently asked questions

Is Multi-Function Station still supported?

No. Panasonic's own support page states software support has ended, and the last builds date from 2012 on Windows and OS X 10.11 on Mac.

Will my fax machine still work?

Yes for standalone copying, faxing and printing from the panel. It is the computer-side functions that are affected.

Is there a replacement?

No. Panasonic has not produced a successor, so a modern machine from another maker is the practical answer if you need computer scanning and PC fax.
