A three-in-one version of the M2020W with a flatbed scanner and copier, the M2070W was a staple of student flats and small home offices. It prints at 21 ppm from the same 150-sheet tray and shares the MLT-D111 toner. The most common support problem today is scanning: Windows 11 prints fine with the built-in driver, but scan-to-PC needs the Samsung Easy Printer Manager or a TWAIN/WIA scan driver, both of which now live on HP's site.

Setting up the Samsung Xpress M2070W

Install the full 'M2070 Series' software package from support.hp.com rather than the print-only driver so the scan driver and Easy Printer Manager come along. Wireless setup is easiest through the USB-assisted wizard; the printer has no web admin password by default, so set one at its IP address if it sits on a shared network. On macOS, built-in AirPrint/AirScan support covers printing and basic flatbed scans.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Samsung's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
