Bambu Handy is the phone companion for Bambu Lab printers. It monitors prints through the built-in camera, shows temperatures and progress, starts and cancels jobs, browses the MakerWorld model library and sends pre-sliced models straight to the printer. It requires a Bambu account and, for remote access, the printer to be in cloud mode. The Google Play listing shows the developer as Shanghai Lunkuo Technology Co., Ltd, which is Bambu Lab's legal entity and not a sign of a fake app.

How to install it
Step 1
Create a Bambu account if you do not have one.
Step 2

Step 3
Connect the printer to Wi-Fi from its own screen.
Step 4
Set the printer to cloud mode if you want remote access from outside your home network.
Step 5

Confirm the camera view and temperatures appear, which shows the connection is working.
Step 7
Send a pre-sliced model from MakerWorld as a test, and stay nearby for the first layer.

When Bambu Handy will not work
Shanghai Lunkuo Technology Co., Ltd is Bambu Lab's legal entity, so the listing is genuine. Check the package identifier, bbl.intl.bambulab.com, if you want to confirm.
Remote access requires cloud mode. A printer set to LAN-only mode is reachable only on the local network, which is a deliberate privacy choice rather than a fault.
Camera streaming is bandwidth heavy. Improve the printer's Wi-Fi signal, use the 2.4 GHz band the printer supports, and expect lower quality over a mobile connection.
Only start a print you can watch. Make sure the plate is clear and the correct build plate is fitted, because the printer cannot tell whether the last print was removed.
Allow notifications for the app in the phone settings, and check the battery optimisation settings on Android are not stopping the app from running in the background.
