The Polaroid app is the companion for Polaroid's instant cameras and the Polaroid Lab, which exposes a photo from your phone screen onto real Polaroid film. It handles camera remote control, creative modes such as double exposure and light painting, film pack status and photo scanning of prints back into the phone. It is called simply Polaroid on both app stores. The Hi-Print pocket printers are a different product line with their own app, so do not expect this one to drive them.
Version and licence: Free. iOS version 1.6.16 at about 208 MB, requiring iOS 17 or later. The app is called simply Polaroid; there is no app called Polaroid Print, despite what some older guides say. The Hi-Print printers use a different app. About 208 MB on iOS.

How to install it
Step 1
Install the Polaroid app from the App Store or Google Play, searching for Polaroid rather than Polaroid Print.
Step 2
Charge the camera or Polaroid Lab and load a film pack, checking the film type matches the device.
Step 3
Enable Bluetooth and grant the app Bluetooth and photo permissions.
Step 4
Open the app and pair the device from the connection screen.
Step 5
For the Lab, place the phone on the stand with the photo on screen, and follow the in-app alignment guide.
Step 6
Expose the photo and let the print develop face down and away from light for the time the app indicates.
Step 7
Use the scan function to bring finished prints back into the phone if you want digital copies.
Which printers it supports
Polaroid instant cameras including the Now, Now+, Go and I-2, and the Polaroid Lab. The Hi-Print pocket printers use the separate Hi-Print app.
When Polaroid app will not work
There is no such app. The main app is called simply Polaroid, and the Hi-Print printers have their own separate app. Search the brand name alone.
Grant Bluetooth permission and, on Android, nearby-device permission. Remove the old pairing from the phone's Bluetooth settings, then switch the camera off and on so it advertises again.
Polaroid film is sensitive to temperature and light. Shield the print from light immediately as it ejects, keep film between about 13 and 28 degrees Celsius, and use the exposure compensation dial or the app setting to adjust.
Clean the phone screen, set screen brightness to maximum, and follow the in-app alignment. Polaroid film has a much narrower dynamic range than a screen, so contrast-heavy images lose detail.
Status only works with genuine Polaroid film packs, which carry the battery that powers the camera. Third-party or expired packs may not report correctly, and empty packs must be removed before the camera will operate.
