The instax mini Link app is the companion for Fujifilm's mini Link range of smartphone printers, which print onto real instax mini instant film. It crops and edits photos to the film format, adds frames, stickers and text, prints video frames, and includes party modes where several phones contribute to one print. One app covers every generation of the printer, which is unusual and welcome. It is a very large download, close to a gigabyte on iOS, so install it over Wi-Fi.
Version and licence: Free, but very large: the iOS build is around 995 MB. One app covers the original mini Link, mini Link 2, mini Link 3 and mini Link+. The Android package name is case sensitive, com.fujifilm.instaxminiLink, which matters if you are searching by identifier. Around 995 MB on iOS.

How to install it
Step 1
Load a pack of instax mini film, matching the yellow mark on the pack to the mark in the printer.
Step 2
Charge the printer and switch it on.
Step 3
Install the instax mini Link app from the App Store or Google Play, allowing for a download of around 995 MB on iOS.
Step 4
Enable Bluetooth and grant the app Bluetooth and photo permissions.
Step 5
Open the app and pair with the printer from the device list.
Step 6
Choose a photo, crop it to the mini film format and apply any edits.
Step 7
Print and let the film develop away from direct light; do not shake it, which does not help and can damage the image.
Step 8
Check the film counter in the app before a batch, since a mini pack holds ten shots.

When INSTAX mini Link app will not work
That is expected; the iOS build is around 995 MB because of the bundled frames, stickers and effects. Download over Wi-Fi and free up space first.
Grant Bluetooth permission and, on Android, nearby-device permission. Switch the printer off and on so it advertises again, and remove any stale pairing from the phone's Bluetooth settings.
The first sheet ejected from a new pack is the black protective cover, which is normal. If actual prints are white, the film may have been exposed to light or the pack may be loaded incorrectly, so check the yellow alignment mark.
instax film has a narrow dynamic range and is temperature sensitive. Use it between about 5 and 40 degrees Celsius, brighten and increase contrast in the app before printing, and avoid images with deep shadows.
The identifier is case sensitive, com.fujifilm.instaxminiLink with a capital L. Searching for instax mini Link in Google Play is easier.
