RICOH Smart Device Print and Scan Download and Setup Guide
Discontinued Ricoh mobile app, replaced by Smart Device Connector

Smart Device Print and Scan was Ricoh's earlier mobile app for printing to and scanning from its multifunction devices. Ricoh has discontinued it and removed it from both app stores, consolidating on Smart Device Connector instead. The entry is here because older manuals, printed setup cards and support articles still name it, and people waste time hunting for a download that no longer exists. If a Ricoh document tells you to install Smart Device Print and Scan, install Smart Device Connector instead.
Version and licence: Discontinued. Ricoh has withdrawn this app and removed it from both the App Store and Google Play. Its replacement is RICOH Smart Device Connector, which is the app to install instead.

What it does
- Printed documents and photos from a phone to a Ricoh device
- Scanned from a Ricoh multifunction device to the phone
- Connected by network or QR code at the device panel
- Basic print settings such as duplex and colour
- All of these functions now live in Smart Device Connector
How to install it
Step 1
Do not search for Smart Device Print and Scan; it has been removed from both app stores.
Step 2
Install RICOH Smart Device Connector from the App Store or Google Play instead.
Step 3
Connect the phone to the same network as the Ricoh device.
Step 4
Open the app and grant the local network permission.
Step 5
Add the device by QR code from the panel, by NFC tap, or by entering its IP address.
Step 6
Enter any user code the device requires for accounting.
Step 7
Print a test document to confirm the setup, then remove the old app if it is still installed.
Which printers it supports
It covered Ricoh multifunction devices and printers with mobile support. Those same devices are now served by Smart Device Connector.
When RICOH Smart Device Print and Scan will not work
It has been discontinued and delisted. Install RICOH Smart Device Connector, which replaced it and supports the same devices.
It is no longer maintained and will not work reliably with current device firmware or phone operating systems. Move to Smart Device Connector and delete the old app.
The manual predates the change. Ricoh's current app is Smart Device Connector, and the setup steps are otherwise the same.
Sideloading a withdrawn app is not advisable and Ricoh does not distribute it. Use the current app, which has the same functions and receives security updates.
Frequently asked questions
Why was it discontinued?
Ricoh consolidated its mobile apps onto Smart Device Connector, which covers the same functions.
Will my printer still work?
Yes. The printer is unaffected; only the app changed. Install Smart Device Connector.
Is there any reason to keep the old app?
No. It is unmaintained and will break as phone operating systems and device firmware move on.
