Samsung printer support now lives on HP's support site

Samsung stopped making printers after selling the business to HP, and the entire support catalogue moved with it. Drivers for Samsung Xpress, ProXpress, SL-series lasers and the older CLP, CLX, ML and SCX ranges are now published on HP's support site under the Samsung model name. That means you search for your Samsung model number on support.hp.com rather than on Samsung's site. Older models are still listed, but new operating system builds are not guaranteed, and some ranges have effectively stopped receiving updates.
Version and licence: HP bought Samsung's printer business, so every Samsung printer driver, manual and support article now lives on support.hp.com. Samsung.com no longer hosts printer downloads. Availability of new drivers for old models is limited, and some very old models have no current Windows build.

How to install it
Step 1
Find the exact model number on the printer, for example SL-M2020W or Xpress C480FW.
Step 2
Open the HP printer drivers page and type that Samsung model number into the search box.
Step 3
Select your operating system and version from the list.
Step 4
Download the full software package if one is offered, or the basic print driver if only that exists for your OS.
Step 5
Connect the printer by USB, or confirm it is on the network, then run the installer.
Step 6
Choose the connection type when prompted and let the installer create the queue.
Step 7
Print a test page, and on an all-in-one open the scan software once to confirm the scanner registered.
Which printers it supports
Samsung Xpress, ProXpress and SL-series laser printers and MFPs, plus the older CLP, CLX, ML, SCX and SF ranges.
When Samsung Printer Drivers and Software will not work
That is correct and not an error. The whole printer catalogue transferred to HP. Search your Samsung model number on support.hp.com instead.
Older Samsung lasers often stop at Windows 10. Try the Windows 10 package in compatibility mode, or add the printer using the built-in Windows class driver over IPP, which handles basic printing on many PCL devices.
It is only published for the models that originally shipped with it, and it does not work on macOS versions past the ones it was built for. Use the printer's own web interface, reached by typing its IP address into a browser, for supplies and settings instead.
Remove the scanner from Settings, Bluetooth and devices, Printers and scanners, reinstall the full package from HP's site, and if only a print driver is available, use the Windows Scan app which speaks WIA and eSCL to many of these machines.
Samsung lasers estimate toner rather than measuring it. Remove the cartridge, rock it gently side to side and refit it. If the printer refuses to continue, check whether your model has an override setting in the panel menu under Toner or Supplies.
Frequently asked questions
Does Samsung still make printers?
No. HP acquired the printer business and Samsung-branded printers are no longer produced. Support continues through HP.
Will HP Smart work with my Samsung printer?
Generally not. HP Smart targets HP-branded hardware. Use the model-specific Samsung driver from support.hp.com.
My model is not listed at all on HP's site
Some very old models were dropped. In that case use a generic driverless route such as IPP Everywhere or Mopria for basic printing, and expect no advanced features.
