Net Viewer is Kyocera's Windows console for managing a group of Kyocera printers and multifunction devices. It discovers devices on the network, displays status and supplies in one list, sends alerts when something needs attention, and lets you push configuration changes and firmware to multiple machines at once. It also handles address book management and accounting data collection. For a single home printer it is overkill, but for a site with a dozen Kyocera machines it saves a great deal of walking around.

How to install it
Step 1
Open the Kyocera Download Center and search for KYOCERA Net Viewer in the software section.
Step 2
Download the Windows package and extract it to a local folder.
Step 3
Run the installer as an administrator; allow time as the package is large.
Step 4
Open Net Viewer and run device discovery, either by scanning an IP range or by importing a list of addresses.
Step 5
Enter the administrator credentials for the devices so the console can read and change settings.
Step 6
Group devices by location or department so alerts and changes can be targeted.
Step 7
Configure email alerts under the notification settings so supply and error warnings reach the right person.
Step 8
Test a configuration change on one device before applying it to a group.

When KYOCERA Net Viewer will not work
Net Viewer relies on SNMP, which is often disabled or restricted. Enable SNMP on the devices through Command Center, allow the traffic through firewalls, and scan the correct IP range rather than relying on broadcast discovery.
You need the device administrator credentials stored in Net Viewer. Enter them in the device properties, and note that many Kyocera devices ship with a default admin login that should have been changed.
Devices must be idle and reachable, and some firmware must be applied in a specific order. Deploy to one device first, keep the machine powered on throughout, and check Kyocera's release notes for prerequisites.
Configure the SMTP server details in the notification settings and make sure your mail server accepts relay from that machine. Test with a single alert before relying on it.
For one or two printers, the device's own Command Center web interface gives you status and settings without installing anything. Net Viewer is only worth it for a fleet.
