The ECOSYS MA4000wifx is the wireless, fax-equipped mono laser all-in-one in the ECOSYS 4000 range Kyocera launched in the US in November 2024 and in Europe in June 2025. It replaces the ECOSYS M2040dn, while the print-only PA4000wx takes over from the long-running P2040dw; both older models already have pages here. The range also includes the MA4000x and MA4000wfx, with the PA4000x and MA4000fx sold in Europe. ECOSYS printers have traditionally used a long-life drum separate from the toner, so most owners replace only the toner for years. It suits small offices that print, scan and fax in black and care about running costs.

Setting up the Kyocera ECOSYS MA4000wifx

Join Wi-Fi from the control panel, let the Kyocera Mobile Print app send the network details from a phone, or plug in Ethernet. Install the KX Driver from Kyocera's support site on Windows for full features; Macs can print through AirPrint. Open Command Center RX by typing the printer's IP address into a browser to set a static address, scan-to-email and scan-to-folder. Kyocera toner is region-coded, so buy containers sold for your country and confirm the part number on the installed toner.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Kyocera's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
