Print Master is the app for Phomemo's label printers, covering shipping labels, barcode labels, cable labels and general purpose thermal labels. It includes templates, barcode and QR generation, and the ability to print PDFs at label size. Phomemo runs two separate apps and it matters which you install: Print Master for the label printers, and a different app called simply Phomemo for the mini and pocket photo printers such as the M02 and T02. If your printer is a small photo printer, this is not the app you want.

Version and licence: Free. iOS version 5.21.1. This is the app for Phomemo label printers. Phomemo publishes a separate app simply called Phomemo for its mini and pocket photo printers, and installing the wrong one is the most common source of confusion.

Download Phomemo Print Master

What it does

  • Label templates for shipping, barcode, price and cable labels
  • Barcode and QR code generation
  • PDF printing at correct label size
  • Bluetooth connection to the label printer
  • Print density and speed adjustment
  • Batch and serialised label printing
  • Calibration function for the label stock

How to install it

  1. Step 1

Confirm your printer is a Phomemo label printer rather than a mini photo printer, since those use a different app.

  2. Step 2

Install Print Master from the App Store or Google Play, or through the links on the Phomemo drivers page.

  3. Step 3

Load the label roll with the thermal side facing the print head and switch the printer on.

  4. Step 4

Enable Bluetooth on the phone and grant the app Bluetooth permission.

  5. Step 5

Open the app, search for the printer and pair with it.

  6. Step 6

Run the calibration function so the printer learns the label length and gap.

  7. Step 7

Set the label size in the app to match your stock, then print one test label.

  8. Step 8

Adjust print density if the output is faint or too dark.

Which printers it supports

Phomemo label printers, including the D-series, PM-series and M-series label models sold for shipping and barcode labelling.

When Phomemo Print Master will not work

My printer is not in the app

Check whether it is a mini photo printer such as the M02 or T02, which use the separate app called Phomemo rather than Print Master.

The printer will not pair

Grant Bluetooth permission, and on Android also the nearby-device permission. Switch the printer off and on so it advertises again, and remove any stale pairing from the phone's Bluetooth settings first.

Labels feed blank

The roll is probably loaded with the coating facing away from the head. Reload it, then run calibration so the printer learns the gap between labels.

Labels print at the wrong size

Set the label dimensions explicitly in the app and turn off any scale-to-fit option. Printing a PDF sized for A4 onto a small label without setting the size produces a shrunken image.

Print is faint or uneven

Increase the print density, use genuine direct thermal stock rather than plain paper labels, and clean the print head with an alcohol swab when the printer is cold.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Print Master and the Phomemo app?

Print Master drives the label printers. The app called simply Phomemo drives the mini and pocket photo printers such as the M02 and T02.

Can I print from a computer?

Phomemo publishes desktop drivers for some models on its drivers page. Check there for your specific printer.

Why are my labels blank?

Thermal labels only print on the coated side. If the roll is in the wrong way round, the printer runs but produces nothing.
