Kyocera Command Center RX Login and Default Admin Password

Command Center RX is the web page built into Kyocera printers and MFPs. Here is how to reach it, which factory login Kyocera documents for your model, and why changing it should be your first job.

To open Kyocera Command Center RX, find the printer's IP address on its status page, type that address into a web browser on the same network, and click Login. Kyocera's guides use "Admin" as the administrator user name. The factory password depends on the model: recent Command Center RX guides say it is the machine's serial number, while many ECOSYS guides list "Admin". Change it as soon as you are in, because factory logins are published in manuals anyone can download.

What Command Center RX is

Command Center RX, often shortened to CCRX, is the embedded web server inside Kyocera ECOSYS printers and TASKalfa multifunction devices. It shows the device's status, toner and paper levels, and job history to anyone on the network. With an administrator login it also controls the settings that matter on a shared machine: the address book and one-touch keys, scan-to-email and scan-to-folder destinations, network and wireless settings, security protocols, user accounts and job accounting.

Older Kyocera models use an earlier interface called Command Center or KYOCERA COMMAND CENTER. It works the same way but looks different and has fewer options.

Step 1: Find the printer's IP address

  • From the panel: print a status page. On most models it is under the System Menu or Counter key, in the Report or Print Report menu. The IPv4 address is in the network section.
  • From a Windows PC: Kyocera Client Tool shows the status and IP details of Kyocera devices installed on that PC. Offices with several machines often use KYOCERA Net Viewer instead.
  • From your router: the router's list of connected devices usually shows the printer by name.

Our guide to finding a printer's IP address covers every method. While you are there, reserve the address in the router or DHCP server so it does not change.

Step 2: Open Command Center RX in a browser

  1. On a computer, phone or tablet connected to the same network, open a browser.
  2. Type the address into the address bar, for example https://192.168.1.60. Some older models or settings use plain http://.
  3. If the browser warns that the connection is not private, that is normal for a printer's own page, because it uses a certificate the printer created itself. Continue only when the address is your own printer's IP address on your own network.
  4. The Command Center RX home page opens in read-only mode. Click Login near the top of the page.

Step 3: Log in with the factory administrator account

Kyocera documents more than one factory default, so check the Command Center RX User Guide or Operation Guide for your exact model on Kyocera's download site. The guides we checked describe three patterns:

Where it appliesUser nameFactory password
Recent Command Center RX user guidesAdminThe machine's serial number
Many earlier ECOSYS model guides, and Kyocera's FAQ for the PA2100cwxAdminAdmin
Some older models with the earlier Command Center interfaceNoneadmin00

User names and passwords are case-sensitive, so "Admin" needs a capital A. Kyocera's guides say the serial number's location is described in the preface of the model's Operation Guide; it is printed on a label on the machine and appears on the status page.

If none of these work, someone has already changed the password, which is what should happen on any office machine. Ask whoever manages the printer, or the Kyocera dealer that services it.

Step 4: Change the administrator password straight away

A factory login that is printed in a public manual is not a password. Anyone on your network who knows the model can change scan destinations, read the address book, or reroute scans. Kyocera's guide describes setting the administrator password as highly recommended to prevent unauthorized changes to the machine and its network configuration.

Once logged in, open the user or administrator account settings and set a long, unique password. On most current firmware this sits under the management or security section of the left-hand menu, but the exact menu name varies by model and firmware version, so follow the path in your model's Command Center RX User Guide. Store the new password somewhere the next administrator can find it. If your model has a separate administrator login for the panel's System Menu, change that one as well.

While you are in the security section, turn off services you do not use. Our printer security basics guide lists which ones are safe to disable on a home or small office printer.

What you can do once you are in

  • Scan to email: enter your mail server, port and sign-in details in the SMTP settings, then send a test. Our guide to scan to email not working explains the settings Gmail and Microsoft 365 need now.
  • Scan to folder: add the computer name, shared folder path and a Windows account that can write to it in the address book.
  • Address book: add, edit and export contacts and one-touch keys.
  • Network: change the host name, set a static address, or switch wireless settings.
  • Supplies and alerts: check toner and maintenance kit status and set up email notifications. If the machine reports toner empty when it is not, see Kyocera toner empty.

For printing itself, install Kyocera's KX driver on each computer. Our Kyocera hub at Kyocera printer support covers drivers and setup in more depth.

If the page will not load or the login fails

  • The page does not open: check the IP address on a fresh status page, make sure your device is on the same network rather than a guest network, and try typing https:// explicitly. Some administrators turn off plain HTTP.
  • The page loads but looks broken: try another browser or a private window, which bypasses cached files from an older firmware version.
  • The login is refused: retype the password with the correct capitals. Many Kyocera devices can lock an account after repeated failed attempts, so wait before trying again.
  • Nobody knows the changed password: contact the Kyocera dealer or service provider for the machine. On leased devices, they hold the service login and are the right people to reset it.

Avoid websites that offer lists of "master passwords" or tools to bypass a printer login. Use the documentation on Kyocera's own site.

Frequently asked questions

What is the default password for Kyocera Command Center RX?

It depends on the model. Kyocera's recent Command Center RX guides use Admin as the user name and the machine's serial number as the factory password. Many earlier ECOSYS guides list Admin as both user name and password, and some older models used admin00. Check the guide for your exact model.

How do I access Kyocera Command Center RX?

Print a status page to find the printer's IP address, then type that address into a browser on the same network, for example https://192.168.1.60. The home page opens in read-only mode; click Login and sign in with the administrator account to change settings.

Why does my browser say the Kyocera page is not secure?

The printer uses a certificate it created itself, which browsers do not recognise. That is normal for a printer's own web page. Continue only when the address is your own printer's IP address on your own network.

What if I cannot log in to Command Center RX?

Check the capitals, because logins are case-sensitive, and wait if the account may be locked after failed attempts. If the password was changed and nobody knows it, contact the Kyocera dealer or service provider that looks after the machine.
