The four-in-one sibling of the SP C260DNw, adding a 35-sheet ADF, colour scanning and Super G3 fax for small offices that want everything in one compact box. It uses the same SP C250 toner set, so consumables are widely available and cheap for a colour MFP. The scanner glass strip under the ADF picks up correction fluid and toner dust, which shows up as a vertical line down every ADF scan and copy.

Setting up the Ricoh SP C261SFNw

Set the machine's IP from the panel, then use Web Image Monitor to fill in SMTP settings, the address book and SMB scan-to-folder paths. Windows scanning needs Ricoh's TWAIN driver installed; the Scan to Folder destination must use a share path in the form \\server\share with a dedicated local account, as Microsoft account credentials will not authenticate. Clean the narrow ADF scanning strip on the left of the glass first whenever copies show a straight line.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Ricoh's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
