The 450 Duo is the unusual LabelWriter that prints both paper roll labels and laminated D1 tape from a PC, making it a favourite of IT departments and offices that label cables and files as well as envelopes. The tape side uses the same D1 cassettes as LabelManager handhelds. Because it is two printers in one, software shows it as two devices and each needs its own media setting.

Best for: Offices and IT teams labelling both envelopes and cables from one desk printer
Install Dymo Connect, connect USB and confirm both the LabelWriter and the Tape printer entries appear. Load a D1 cassette by pressing it firmly until it clicks and run a test cut. Design tape labels with the Tape layout in Dymo Connect and roll labels with the standard LW layouts.
The Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo uses the following consumables. Match the number exactly when you buy: the same printer family often uses several different cartridge numbers by region.
High-yield (XL) versions almost always cost less per page if you print regularly. On third-party ink and toner, read our honest assessment first, and note that some manufacturers push firmware that rejects non-original chips.
