The ENVY Photo 7975 is the flagship of HP's refreshed ENVY Photo line, shown at HP's fall launch event on October 2, 2025. It most likely replaces the ENVY Inspire 7955e, keeping the combination that made that model popular: a dedicated photo tray for 4x6 and 5x7 prints plus an automatic document feeder for scanning paperwork. Its sibling, the ENVY Photo 7275, drops the feeder and looks set to replace the ENVY Inspire 7255e at big-box stores. Both suit families who print school photos and crafts as well as forms. HP had not confirmed the exact on-sale month, cartridge numbers or speeds when this page was written, so those fields are left blank.

Setting up the HP ENVY Photo 7975

Expect HP Smart to handle setup, including Wi-Fi onboarding, the HP account sign-in and any subscription offer. Check the box and the setup screens for HP+ or Instant Ink terms before you accept them, since the name of this model does not carry the usual "e" suffix. Load photo paper glossy side down in the photo tray, not the main tray, and pick the paper type in the app so colors come out right. Load documents face-up in the feeder for multi-page scans.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the ink cartridges, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use HP's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
