The B3340dw is a wireless 40 ppm mono printer that Lexmark sells through retail channels as the consumer-friendly version of its MS331 office model. It has a proper multipurpose feeder and a colour status display, which the cheaper B2236 lacks. Cartridge yields are modest, so anyone printing a few thousand pages a month should buy the 6,000-page cartridge and keep a spare imaging unit.

Best for: Home offices and micro-businesses wanting a fast wireless mono printer
Wireless setup runs from the Network/Ports menu on the colour display or via WPS; Lexmark Mobile Print can also push credentials from a phone. Install the Lexmark Universal Print Driver on Windows or add via AirPrint on macOS. The Embedded Web Server at the printer's IP provides firmware updates and toner alerts.
The Lexmark B3340dw uses the following consumables. Match the number exactly when you buy: the same printer family often uses several different cartridge numbers by region.
High-yield (XL) versions almost always cost less per page if you print regularly. On third-party ink and toner, read our honest assessment first, and note that some manufacturers push firmware that rejects non-original chips.
