Lexmark Print is the mobile app for printing to and scanning from Lexmark printers and multifunction devices. It finds printers on the network, prints documents and photos from the phone or cloud storage, releases held jobs at the device and pulls scans back to the phone. On Android there is also a separate print service plugin, which is the better route for printing from inside other apps because it plugs into the system print dialog. Note the rename: Lexmark Mobile Print became Lexmark Print at version 3.0, and Lexmark is now part of Xerox following the 2025 acquisition.

Version and licence: Free. The app was renamed from Lexmark Mobile Print to simply Lexmark Print at version 3.0, so older guides use the old name. Current iOS version is 3.8.9 at about 46.9 MB. Android also has a separate print service plugin that hooks into the system print dialog. About 46.9 MB on iOS.

What it does

  • Automatic discovery of Lexmark printers on the network
  • Print documents, photos and web pages from the phone
  • Scan from a Lexmark multifunction device to the phone
  • Release held and secure print jobs at the device
  • Print from cloud storage accounts
  • Android print service plugin for printing from any app
  • Supports authentication for managed print environments

How to install it

  1. Step 1

Install Lexmark Print from the App Store or Google Play, and on Android also install the Lexmark Print Service plugin.

  2. Step 2

Connect the phone to the same network as the printer.

  3. Step 3

Open the app and allow the local network permission, which discovery requires.

  4. Step 4

Tap to add a printer and let it search, or enter the printer's IP address manually if your network blocks discovery.

  5. Step 5

Enter any authentication credentials your organisation requires for the device.

  6. Step 6

On Android, open Settings, Connected devices, Printing and enable the Lexmark print service so printing works from other apps.

  7. Step 7

Print a test document, then try Scan if the device is a multifunction model.

Which printers it supports

Lexmark network printers and multifunction devices, including the current CX, MX, CS, MS and MB families and many earlier models with network support.

When Lexmark Print (formerly Lexmark Mobile Print) will not work

I cannot find Lexmark Mobile Print in the app store

It was renamed to Lexmark Print at version 3.0. Search for Lexmark Print instead; it is the same app under a new name.

The app cannot discover the printer

Grant the local network permission, turn off any VPN and confirm the phone is on the same subnet as the printer. If your network isolates wireless clients from wired devices, add the printer by IP address instead.

Printing from other Android apps does not offer Lexmark

That needs the separate Lexmark Print Service plugin, not just the main app. Install the plugin, then enable it under Settings, Connected devices, Connection preferences, Printing.

Jobs are held and never print

Managed environments hold jobs for release at the device. Walk to the printer, sign in at the panel and release the job, or use the release function in the app if your setup permits it.

Scanning is not offered

Scan only appears for multifunction devices and often has to be enabled by an administrator in the device's Embedded Web Server. Check with whoever manages the fleet if the option is missing.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not find Lexmark Mobile Print?

Lexmark renamed it to Lexmark Print at version 3.0. The listing is the same app.

What is the Android print plugin for?

It adds Lexmark support to the Android system print dialog so you can print from any app rather than only from inside the Lexmark app.

Does Xerox owning Lexmark change the app?

Not for now. Lexmark Print remains the Lexmark app, though Xerox Easy Assist has also gained Lexmark printer support.
