Is the OKI MB562w right for you?

The MB562w is a fast 47 ppm mono MFP with fax, wireless and a 20,000-page toner, aimed at busy small offices that still need a fax line. It has a much bigger paper capacity than the MB472w, which suits environments printing hundreds of pages a day. The 3.5-inch touchscreen is small for complex scan workflows, so most owners configure destinations once in the web interface and use one-touch buttons afterwards.

Setting up the OKI MB562w

Set up the fax line first from the panel, including dial type and any outside-line prefix, then test to a known working number. Configure scan destinations and the address book in the printer's web page rather than on the panel, and export the address book as a backup. If the machine drops off wireless after router changes, reserve its IP in DHCP or switch it to Ethernet, which is more reliable at this speed.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the ink cartridges, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use OKI's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
