Ricoh SP 213w
Home offices printing a few pages a day on a tight budget

The SP 230DNw is the model most SP 210 owners upgraded to: 30 ppm, automatic duplex, wired and wireless networking and a proper 250-sheet cassette. Unlike the older all-in-one design it splits toner and drum, which cuts running costs but means a faded page may be the 12,000-page drum rather than the toner. It still has no display, so keep Smart Organizing Monitor installed on at least one PC to read error detail.

Best for: Small offices wanting duplex and Ethernet at entry-level pricing
Press and hold the Wi-Fi button for a few seconds to start WPS pushbutton pairing, or connect by USB and configure the radio through Smart Organizing Monitor. If you use Ethernet, print a configuration page by holding the Job Reset button to read the IP address, then type that address into a browser to reach Web Image Monitor. Set duplex as the driver default in Windows printing preferences; the printer itself has no menu to change it.
The Ricoh SP 230DNw uses the following consumables. Match the number exactly when you buy: the same printer family often uses several different cartridge numbers by region.
High-yield (XL) versions almost always cost less per page if you print regularly. On third-party ink and toner, read our honest assessment first, and note that some manufacturers push firmware that rejects non-original chips.
