Epson Printer Connection Checker Download and Setup Guide
Windows diagnostic that explains why the computer cannot reach the Epson printer

The Printer Connection Checker is a small Windows diagnostic that Epson includes with its driver packages. It runs through the chain between the computer and the printer, checking that the driver is installed, that the port is correct, that the printer answers on the network and that no firewall rule is blocking it, and it prints a report explaining what it found. It is most useful when a printer that used to work has gone offline after a router change or an IP address change. It has no standalone installer, which is why people struggle to find it: it comes with the driver, reached through epson.sn.
Version and licence: Windows only, and there is no standalone download page. It ships inside the model driver packages and is reachable through the epson.sn setup site. Mac users do not have an equivalent tool and should use the macOS network diagnostics instead.
Download Epson Printer Connection Checker
What it does
- Checks whether the print driver and port are correctly configured
- Tests network reachability to the printer's current IP address
- Detects firewall software that is blocking printing
- Reports when the printer's IP address has changed since it was installed
- Produces a saved report you can send to support
- Offers to correct the port automatically in common cases
How to install it
Step 1
Open epson.sn in a browser and enter your printer model.
Step 2
Download the software package for Windows offered for that model.
Step 3
Run the installer and complete a standard installation, which places the Connection Checker on the system.
Step 4
Open the Start menu and search for Epson Printer Connection Checker.
Step 5
Run it and select the printer you are having trouble with.
Step 6
Let the checks complete and read the result summary rather than closing it immediately.
Step 7
Apply the suggested fix, then print a test page from Windows to confirm.
Which printers it supports
Epson inkjet printers and all-in-ones supported by the current Windows driver packages, including Expression, EcoTank, WorkForce and WorkForce Pro models.
When Epson Printer Connection Checker will not work
There is no standalone page. Install the model's Windows software package from epson.sn, which includes the tool, then launch it from the Start menu.
Your router handed the printer a new address. Either set a DHCP reservation for the printer on the router, or set a static IP on the printer panel, then update the Windows port to match under Printer Properties, Ports.
Add an exception for the Epson software and allow the printer's IP address in your security suite. Some third-party firewalls block the discovery protocol even when they allow the print port, so allow both.
Check for a stalled job in the queue and clear it, then restart the print spooler service. If the printer panel shows an error such as a paper or ink fault, the network side is fine and the problem is at the printer.
Correct, it is Windows only. On macOS, remove and re-add the printer in Printers and Scanners, or reset the printing system if the queue is corrupt.
Frequently asked questions
Is it Windows only?
Yes. Epson has not released a Mac version, so Mac users rely on the operating system's own printer diagnostics.
Do I need to install the whole driver package to get it?
Yes. It is bundled and not offered separately, so the driver package from epson.sn is the route.
Will it fix problems automatically?
It corrects some common port and configuration problems and explains the rest, but it will not fix a printer that has a hardware or supplies error.
