The OfficeJet Pro 9720e is HP's 2023 wide-format all-in-one and the successor to the long-running 7720, printing up to 11 x 17 or A3 while scanning at letter size. It moved to the HP 924 cartridge family and to HP+, so it needs Original HP ink and an internet connection after activation. Teachers, small design studios and churches are its natural buyers, and they should budget for the larger EvoMore cartridges if they print posters regularly.
Sold in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia. Sold as HP OfficeJet Pro 9720e / 9722e in United Kingdom.

Best for: Small studios and classrooms printing A3 on an HP+ machine
Set up in HP Smart with an HP account; Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi are available. Select the 11 x 17 or A3 size in the driver when you load large sheets, extend the tray and output support, and keep the rear clear for the duplexer. The ADF and flatbed remain letter-sized, so large originals must be scanned in sections.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9720e uses the following consumables. Match the number exactly when you buy: the same printer family often uses several different cartridge numbers by region.
High-yield (XL) versions almost always cost less per page if you print regularly. On third-party ink and toner, read our honest assessment first, and note that some manufacturers push firmware that rejects non-original chips.
