Is the HP OfficeJet Pro 9110b right for you?

The OfficeJet Pro 9110b is the print-only member of HP's 2023 9100 series and, importantly, the b suffix marks it as a business model without the HP+ requirement. It uses the new HP 936 cartridge system and the EvoMore high-yield option, and it is one of the few current HP inkjets that can be set up without an HP account. It suits small offices that already have a scanner and want fast, smudge-resistant colour documents from a compact box.

Setting up the HP OfficeJet Pro 9110b

Setup works from the touchscreen alone or from HP Smart; for a fleet, the HP Universal Print Driver and the embedded web server are available. Ethernet, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are all supported. Use genuine or reputable compatible HP 936 cartridges and keep the printer powered so printhead servicing runs on schedule.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the ink cartridges, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use HP's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
