Is the OKI B432dn right for you?

The B432dn is the fast member of OKI's compact mono family, running at 40 ppm with a 12,000-page toner that makes it one of the cheapest small printers to run at volume. It is a common sight in accounts departments and dispatch offices where speed and cost per page matter more than features. Like the B412dn it uses a separate long-life drum, so budget for both parts rather than assuming toner is the only consumable.

Setting up the OKI B432dn

Add by IP using OKI's PCL6 driver and enable the second tray in the driver if one is fitted, otherwise it will not appear as a paper source. For dispatch and warehouse use, set the printer's power-save and deep-sleep timers longer so it does not need to wake for every label or picking list. Keep the LED head cleaner supplied in the box; wiping the head clears the vertical white lines that appear as the printer ages.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the ink cartridges, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use OKI's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
