The SF version of the SP 3710 adds a 50-sheet reversing ADF, Super G3 fax and a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen to the same 34 ppm print engine. It is a natural fit for a reception desk or a small legal or accountancy practice that needs scan-to-email and copying but not colour. Wi-Fi is an optional add-on card, and scan-to-email is the single most common setup headache because modern mail providers require app passwords and TLS on port 587.

Setting up the Ricoh SP 3710SF

Use the touchscreen's User Tools to set the machine IP, then open Web Image Monitor to enter SMTP details and build the address book — typing addresses on the panel is slow and error-prone. For Windows scanning install the Ricoh TWAIN/WIA driver alongside the PCL6 Universal Driver. If your mail host is Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace you will need an app password and SMTP AUTH with STARTTLS on port 587, not the default port 25.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Ricoh's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
