Is the Ricoh SP C260DNw right for you?

Ricoh's compact 21 ppm colour laser for small offices, the SP C260DNw prints colour and mono at the same speed and adds Wi-Fi to the older SP C250 design. Its weak point is the single-sheet bypass, which makes envelope runs tedious. Colour banding on this family is almost always a photoconductor unit rather than toner, and the waste toner bottle is a hard stop — the printer refuses all jobs once it reports full.

Best for: Small offices that need occasional colour without a colour price premium

Setting up the Ricoh SP C260DNw

Join Wi-Fi from the panel under Network Settings, or use the WPS shortcut on the control panel; the radio is 2.4 GHz only. Install the Ricoh PCL6 driver for full colour and duplex control rather than relying on AirPrint, which does not expose the colour mode or paper-type settings. Register Plain Thick or Letterhead as the tray paper type in Web Image Monitor if toner rubs off heavier stock.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Ricoh's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
