Is the OKI C824dn right for you?

The C824dn is OKI's entry A3 colour LED printer, prized in schools, architects' offices and small studios for producing full-bleed A3 and long banners without a copier-sized machine. It is a printer only, so scanning needs a separate device. Print quality at 1200 x 600 dpi is good for posters and drawings but not a match for high-end graphic proofing.

Setting up the OKI C824dn

Add by IP and use the PostScript driver if you print from CAD or Adobe software, as it handles large fills and line work more predictably than PCL. Load A3 in the main tray and reserve the multipurpose tray for card and banner work with the media weight set accordingly. If long banners jam near the exit, support the trailing edge of the sheet by hand and print one at a time rather than stacking.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the ink cartridges, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use OKI's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
