Is the Ricoh P C600 right for you?

The P C600 is Ricoh's 37 ppm A4 colour workhorse, pitched at offices that want colour quality close to a copier without the copier footprint. High-capacity toners and a 100,000-page duty cycle put it well ahead of consumer colour lasers on running costs, and the bypass handles card, labels and short banners. Because it is a single-function printer, buyers who also want scanning should look at the M C2000 or IM C range instead.

Setting up the Ricoh P C600

Add by IP with the PCL6 Universal Driver and set the tray paper types in Web Image Monitor so heavier media triggers the right fuser temperature. Colour accuracy improves noticeably after running Auto Colour Calibration from the touchscreen once the machine has warmed up in its final location. If jobs are slow to start, disable the deep sleep timer and check the driver is not set to spool the whole document before printing.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the toner cartridge and drum unit, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use Ricoh's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
