Brother Full Driver and Software Package Download and Setup Guide
The complete driver, scanner and utility bundle for a specific Brother model

The Full Driver and Software Package is the everything-included download for a Brother printer: the print driver, the scanner driver, the network setup wizard and the utilities that model uses. It is the download to choose when you want scanning, faxing from the computer and the full feature set, rather than the basic print-only driver Brother also offers. Because it is built per model, you pick it from your printer's own download page after choosing your country. On Windows it arrives as a self-extracting archive that runs start.exe, and on macOS as a disk image.
Version and licence: Free, and specific to each model, so there is no single version number. Brother's site uses a country selector in the address, so use the c=us, c=gb, c=ca or c=au form for your region. The Windows package extracts and runs start.exe, and the macOS package is a disk image.

How to install it
Step 1
Open the Brother support product search page for your country and enter your model, for example MFC-L3750CDW.
Step 2
Choose your operating system and version, then select the Full Driver and Software Package rather than the printer driver only.
Step 3
Download the file and, on Windows, extract it if it does not extract itself, then run start.exe.
Step 4
On macOS open the disk image and run the installer, allowing it in System Settings, Privacy and Security if it is blocked.
Step 5
Choose the connection type when prompted, wireless network or USB.
Step 6
For wireless, either let the wizard configure the printer or connect a USB cable temporarily so it can pass the Wi-Fi details.
Step 7
Let the installation finish, then print a test page and run one scan.
Step 8
Grant the local network permission on macOS when the installer asks, or discovery will fail.
Which printers it supports
All current and most legacy Brother printers, all-in-ones and fax machines, though the operating system versions offered vary considerably by model age.
When Brother Full Driver and Software Package will not work
Older models often stop at an earlier Windows or macOS version. Check whether Brother offers a basic driver instead, and if not, add the printer with the built-in IPP or AirPrint support, which handles basic printing without a manufacturer driver.
Connect a USB cable temporarily so the wizard can pass the network credentials to the printer, then remove it. Also reset the printer's network settings from Menu, Network, Network Reset before retrying.
Allow the Brother applications through the firewall on both private and public network profiles, since Brother scanning uses a protocol many firewalls block. Then confirm the scanner appears in the operating system's scanner list.
Open System Settings, Privacy and Security and choose Open Anyway, then grant the local network permission when prompted. Without that permission the installer cannot discover a networked printer.
Set a DHCP reservation on the router or a static address on the printer, then update the port in Printer Properties, Ports on Windows. Reinstalling the whole package is not necessary for an address change.

Frequently asked questions
Full package or printer driver only?
Choose the full package if you want scanning, PC-Fax and the status monitor. The driver-only download prints but does nothing else.
Why does the download address have c=us in it?
Brother uses a country selector in the URL. Change it to c=gb, c=ca or c=au to see the downloads published for your region.
Does it include ControlCenter4?
Only on older models. Newer models ship iPrint and Scan for the desktop instead, since ControlCenter4 is legacy.
