The XP-440 was the last of the classic Small-in-One series before the XP-4100 and is extremely common in US homes; the XP-446 sold at warehouse clubs is the same printer. It is slow but reliable for occasional printing and photos, using 288 cartridges. By 2026 most units are hitting the waste ink pad limit, and cartridge recognition failures with aged compatibles are the other frequent call.
Sold in United States, Canada. Sold as XP-446 (retailer variant) in United States.

Best for: Occasional printers with an older but dependable compact Epson
Use the LCD Wi-Fi wizard on 2.4 GHz or the Wi-Fi Direct menu for phone printing. Install the driver from epson.com/support; for the XP-446 the XP-440 package is correct. Epson iPrint or AirPrint handle mobile printing; Smart Panel does not support this model.
The Epson Expression Home XP-440 uses the following consumables. Match the number exactly when you buy: the same printer family often uses several different cartridge numbers by region.
High-yield (XL) versions almost always cost less per page if you print regularly. On third-party ink and toner, read our honest assessment first, and note that some manufacturers push firmware that rejects non-original chips.
