Epson's legacy mobile print and scan app, kept for older printers

Epson iPrint was Epson's mobile printing app for a decade, covering printing, scanning, copying and cloud access from a phone or tablet. Epson has moved its current printers to Smart Panel, and now describes iPrint as the app for older Epson products. It is still worth installing if your printer predates Smart Panel support, because it recognises a much longer list of legacy models. It is lighter than Smart Panel and its interface is simpler, but it receives limited development.
Version and licence: Legacy but still published. iOS version 7.14.0 at about 35.1 MB. Epson's own UK pages label it as being for use with older Epson products, and new printers should use Epson Smart Panel instead. About 35.1 MB on iOS.

How to install it
Step 1
Install Epson iPrint from the App Store or Google Play.
Step 2
Connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
Step 3
Open the app and allow the local network permission so it can discover the printer.
Step 4
Tap the printer selector at the top and choose Printer is not selected, then let it scan the network.
Step 5
Pick your model from the list, or choose Manual IP and enter the address from the printer's network status sheet.
Step 6
Confirm the paper size and type in the app match what is loaded.
Step 7
Print a test photo or document, then check Scan works if you have an all-in-one.
Which printers it supports
Older Epson inkjet printers and all-in-ones, including earlier Expression, Stylus, WorkForce and XP models. Printers released in recent years are covered by Smart Panel instead.
When Epson iPrint will not work
Allow the local network permission, disable any VPN and confirm the phone is on the same subnet. If discovery still fails, use Manual IP and type the address printed on the printer's network status sheet.
Very recent Epson models are only supported by Smart Panel. Install Smart Panel for those, and keep iPrint only if you also own an older printer.
iPrint renders the document on the phone before sending, so large files are slow. Reduce the page count, or print through AirPrint on iOS or Mopria on Android, both of which push the rendering elsewhere.
Scan only appears for all-in-one models, and only once the printer has been selected over the network rather than through Wi-Fi Direct on some models. Reselect the printer over your normal network.
Set the paper size and type in the app print settings before printing, and enable borderless only when photo paper is loaded. Leaving the setting on plain paper produces a margin regardless of the media.

Smart Panel for any recent Epson printer. iPrint only if your printer is old enough that Smart Panel does not list it.
Is iPrint being removed?
Epson still publishes it, but describes it as for older products, so treat it as legacy and expect it to fade out.
Can I have both installed?
Yes, and that is sensible if you own an old and a new Epson printer.
