The DeskJet 2734e is a retailer-exclusive spin on the 2700e series that shows up in many US homes because it is often the cheapest wireless all-in-one on the shelf. Under the different model number it is the same HP+ engine as the 2755e, with the same 60-sheet tray and the same requirement for genuine HP 67 ink once HP+ is switched on. Treat the low sticker price with caution, as the bundled cartridges are small and replacements quickly cost more than the printer.

Setting up the HP DeskJet 2734e

Unbox it, remove every strip of blue tape inside the cartridge door, and set it up from HP Smart with Bluetooth enabled on your phone. The model is sold in the US only, so choose the US region when the app asks. Skip HP+ during setup if you plan to use remanufactured cartridges later; once activated the choice cannot be reversed.

1. Unbox and prepare. Remove every piece of shipping tape and packing material, install the ink cartridges, and load paper in the tray.
2. Join your Wi-Fi. Keep the printer close to the router for setup. Most printers only connect to the 2.4GHz band, so if your router broadcasts one merged network name you may need to split the bands temporarily. See our Wi-Fi guide if it will not join.
3. Install the setup app. Use HP's official app rather than a driver you found on a search result — third-party driver sites are the most common source of printer malware.
4. Add the printer. On Windows 11: Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners › Add device. On macOS: System Settings › Printers & Scanners › Add Printer.
5. Print a test page and run a scan if this is an all-in-one, so you find any problem now rather than when you are in a hurry.
